ACORE Announces New Board Chair

RWE’s Kevin Gresham to Succeed Declan Flanagan of Ørsted

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) today announced that Kevin Gresham, Senior Vice President of Government Relations & External Affairs at RWE Renewables Americas LLC, will become Chair of the organization’s Board of Directors. Gresham will succeed Declan Flanagan, who held the role of Executive Vice President and CEO of Ørsted’s Onshore business, and served as ACORE’s Board Chairman since June of 2020.

“We are incredibly grateful for Declan Flanagan’s service and guidance through a time of unprecedented institutional growth despite an array of challenges for the renewable sector,” said ACORE President and CEO Gregory Wetstone. “Now we are poised to emerge from the pandemic stronger than ever under the able guidance of Kevin Gresham as the new Chair of our Board of Directors. Widely respected for his wealth of energy sector knowledge and experience, Kevin’s leadership will be tremendously helpful as we continue to strengthen ACORE and double down on our mission to accelerate America’s transition to renewable energy.”

Mr. Gresham has more than 30 years of electric industry experience and currently directs RWE’s governmental relations, federal and state regulatory activities, and external affairs across the Americas. Prior to joining RWE, he was Director of RTO Policy for RRI Energy, where he was involved in ERCOT, PJM, MISO, California, and the West. His full bio is available here.

“I am honored that my colleagues have elected me to serve as the Chair of ACORE’s Board of Directors, and I look forward to working with my Board colleagues and the ACORE executive team to further grow the renewable energy sector,” said Gresham. “ACORE is well-positioned to make a substantial impact during this critical moment for the energy transition, and I am excited to get to work on behalf of our membership.”
