Steve has 35 years of experience in the Electric Utility Industry and served as the President and Executive Chairman of Jersey Central Power and Light. During his utility career he held numerous engineering, operational management and executive positions across the FirstEnergy Corporation service territory and was a staunch advocate for Distributed Energy Resources in the utility T&D system.
From 2009 to 2016 he was CEO of New Jersey based solar developer American Clean Energy which developed nearly 30MW of commercial and industrial solar PV installations in New Jersey.
Steve maintains an active interest in renewable distributed energy systems and energy storage as a shareholder and Director of Princeton Power Systems, New Jersey’s premier power electronics manufacturer and integrator of Renewable Energy Systems, smart micro grids, storage and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Steve was a member of the ACORE board of directors from 2010 until 2016 and served on several committees including chairing the finance and search committees, the executive committee and as Treasurer of the organization.
He has also been a board member of SEPA (now) Smart Electric Power Association as well as many New Jersey based organizations such as NJ EDA, NJ Chamber of Commerce, Rutgers University Institute for Marine and Coastal Science and Lead NJ.
Mr. Morgan earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Ohio State University and is a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio. He has also completed the University of Michigan, School of Business Executive Management Program.
