Chris O’Brien held senior executive positions with leading global solar PV and other clean energy companies and trade associations for the past 28 years. His expertise includes clean energy business strategy and business development, energy market analysis, technology assessment, partnership development, and policy advocacy. His past employers include Flex Energy, Tokyo Electron, Oerlikon Solar, Sharp Solar, BP Solar, U.S. EPA and AES Corporation. Chris is currently a Board Director for Fresh Energy and for Cook County Local Energy Project in Minnesota. He was Chairman of the Board for the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), in Washington, DC from 2003 to 2008, and continued to serve on SEIA’s executive committee until 2012. Early in his career, Chris worked as an appropriate technology volunteer and training director for US Peace Corps in the Gambia and Niger, respectively.

Chris earned two engineering degrees from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Stanford University.
