The American Council On Renewable Energy Announces New Members Appointed to its Board of Directors

Washington, D.C. – The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) is pleased to announce new members of its 2016 Board of Directors: Frank Armijo, Vice President, Lockheed Martin Energy; Skip Grow, Managing Director, Morgan Stanley; and Shannon Kellogg, Director of Public Policy, Amazon.

“I am delighted to welcome our Board members,” said Gregory Wetstone, ACORE’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “The participation of these leading corporate players is a testament to the growing importance of renewable energy across the American economy, and a tremendous help to ACORE as we advance the policies and financial structures essential to the transition to a renewable energy economy.”

Dan Reicher, ACORE Board Chairman and Executive Director of the Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy & Finance at Stanford University, added, “I am eagerly anticipating Frank, Skip, and Shannon joining the board, given their impressive backgrounds and strong commitment to renewables.”

Frank Armijo is Vice President of Lockheed Martin Energy, a line of business within Lockheed Martin that delivers comprehensive solutions across the energy industry to include demand response solutions, energy efficiency, energy storage, nuclear systems, ocean energy technologies and bioenergy generation. With more than 25 years of experience, Armijo has overall management responsibility for the performance of Lockheed Martin’s energy portfolio and oversees the business’ strategy, operations and new business. “Renewable energy generation is a global security and economic impetrative, and as the world’s population grows, we see the demand for new energy sources continuing to increase rapidly,” Armijo said. “I am honored to join ACORE and support their mission to advance clean energy sources and deliver critical economic, security and environmental benefits to our world.”

Skip Grow is a Managing Director in the Power & Utility Group at Morgan Stanley, and heads the firm’s Clean Energy Technologies coverage effort. He has a broad range of industry experience, having managed transactions for such leading companies as Bloom Energy, EnerNOC, Enphase, First Solar, Opower, SunPower, Sunrun, Vivint Solar and Westport Innovations, among others. “I look forward to working alongside ACORE to help our industry overcome some of the hurdles it currently faces, and support policies and financial structures that will accelerate the growth of clean energy more broadly,” he said.

Shannon Kellogg is Director of Public Policy at Amazon, where he leads the company’s public policy efforts in support of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) business in the Americas, and focuses on cloud computing, open data, cyber security, government procurement and acquisition issues, and renewable energy policy. “AWS is committed to running our business in the most environmentally friendly way possible and has a long-term commitment to achieve 100 percent renewable energy usage for our global infrastructure footprint,” said Kellogg. “I am eager to join ACORE’s board, and to collaborate with my colleagues in our work to grow the renewable energy sector, especially for industries seeking new sources of sustainable power.”
