ACORE Commends Committee Vote on FERC Nominee Willie Phillips, Calls for Swift Senate Confirmation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources voted this morning to advance Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) nominee Willie Phillips. Following is a statement from Gregory Wetstone, President and CEO of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE):

“Willie Phillips is a highly qualified FERC nominee, and we commend the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources for advancing his nomination. We call on the full Senate to quickly follow suit and confirm Mr. Phillips to the Commission. Given the significant transmission and power market reforms necessary to unlock America’s growing renewable energy economy, a full complement of five FERC commissioners is critical for accelerating the clean energy transition.”
