Puneet Verma

Puneet Verma leads federal advocacy efforts for Avangrid’s full suite of businesses including the 3rd largest wind and solar operations in the U.S. and 8 electric and natural gas utilities.  With over 30 years of experience, he has an extensive background and commercial understanding in diverse aspects of the energy sector ranging from policy, advocacy, and commercialization of new ventures. Currently, Puneet also serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the American Clean Power Association and the National Capital Area Council for Boy Scouts of America.

Prior to joining Avangrid, Puneet worked in Government Affairs for Chevron. Before that, he held increasing leadership roles in their policy team, energy ventures group, and managed the company’s Hydrogen Program. He also held business development, finance, and engineering roles at Pacific Gas & Electric and Potomac Electric Power Company.

Puneet has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master of Business Administration degree from George Washington University.
