ACORE Hosts 2020 Awards Gala & Policy Forum in Washington, D.C.

ACORE’s 2020 Awards Gala and Policy Forum, held March 3 and 4 in Washington, D.C., provided opportunities for renewable energy industry heads to gather, celebrate political champions and sector leaders, and learn more of what to expect for clean energy policy in the future.

ACORE was proud to present Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) with the Renewable Energy Champion awards during the annual Awards Gala, held at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. We also honored Pattern Energy Group and its CEO Mike Garland with this year’s Renewable Energy Leadership award.

The 2020 ACORE Policy Forum, which took place at Convene’s event space in Washington, D.C., included keynote remarks from Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Rep. Paul Tonko (D-NY), DOE’s Assistant Secretary of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Daniel Simmons, and FERC Commissioner Richard Glick. From the larger sweeping conversations on the future of federal clean energy legislation to the impact of climate policy on renewable energy growth and investment, the timely discussions provided expert insight on what our sector can expect at the state, federal and regulatory levels.

We were incredibly fortunate to be able to complete such a productive series of events before concerns around the coronavirus rendered such gatherings far more challenging. For those who couldn’t attend this year’s Awards Gala and Policy Forum, please enjoy the above slideshow.
