Chairman and President, International Institute for Energy Conservation
Rob Pratt has been a national and international leader in clean energy for more than 40 years, as a for-profit and non-profit entrepreneur, a clean energy funder, and a governmental leader. He is currently Chairman and President of the International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC), a non-profit organization that he founded in 1984. The IIEC has focused on increasing the use of energy efficiency in the developing world, working in more than 50 countries and reducing energy demand by thousands of MWs.
As the Chairman and formerly the CEO of GreenerU, Mr. Pratt founded in 2008 a company dedicated to helping colleges and universities become climate leaders while reducing energy, water, and infrastructure costs. GreenerU is the largest energy and sustainability services company working with colleges in New England. Mr. Pratt was also the founder, Chairman and CEO of Energia Global International (EGI, now Enel Latin America), a company that became one of the leading renewable energy companies in Central America. Prior to GreenerU, Mr. Pratt was the Senior Vice President of the Henry P. Kendall Foundation, and he served as Director of the $250 million Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust.
Mr. Pratt has chaired or been active on the boards of many clean energy non-profit organizations, such as ACORE, the Alliance to Save Energy, the Cambridge Energy Alliance, and the Northeast Clean Energy Council. He received his MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, and his BA from Wesleyan University.
