Laura Zapata

Laura Zapata is the CEO & Co-Founder of Clearloop, the climate solutions platform that helps organizations of all sizes—from small businesses to Fortune 50 companies to universities like Vanderbilt—tackle their carbon footprint and expand access to clean energy. Laura believes that solar projects can be a tool for economic development for communities looking to show they are open for business and embracing of innovation. That is why Laura built Clearloop, now a Silicon Ranch Company, to capture the broader purchasing power of organizations investing in tangible climate action, unlocking innovative funding mechanisms to bring clean energy projects to life in communities feeling left behind. Clearloop was named as one of 16 “Reasons to hope: companies, people, and ideas that might save the planet” by Fast Company. Today, Clearloop has successfully commissioned solar projects across Tennessee and Northern Mississippi, powering thousands of households and abating half a billion pounds of carbon. Looking ahead, Clearloop will double its operational solar projects in its sixth year, expanding access to clean energy across communities in Arkansas and Louisiana. Prior to starting Clearloop, Laura spent her career in Washington, DC working in Congress, in Silicon Valley at Uber, as well as across the country on political campaigns. Laura immigrated from Colombia with her family and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. Laura graduated from Dartmouth College and lives in Nashville with her husband and their dog, Magnolia.
