Chief Commercial Officer, Ørsted Americas

James Giamarino joined Ørsted in September 2020 and is currently the Chief Commercial Officer for the newly combined Ørsted Americas offshore and onshore business. As the head of the single consolidated commercial team, he overseas Growth & Strategy, Commercial Structuring, M&A, Project Finance and Commercial Partnerships, covering all commercial activities through the entire project lifecycle. James and his team are responsible for finding value-creating opportunities for Ørsted Americas to grow across target renewable technologies and geographies. He is a member of the Americas Region Senior Leadership Team and reports directly to Ørsted Americas CEO.

James came to Ørsted after a 20-year career at GE Capital. Over those years James worked at several GE Capital businesses across a variety of finance and commercial leadership functions. James Led M&A transactions across various asset and product types at GE Capital. In 2006, he transitioned into the Energy sector by joining GE Energy Financial Services, investing in U.S. solar and wind projects. He also led their Global Growth Team, leading equity investments in utility scale solar projects in Asia and Latin America. James is currently based in the Ørsted NYC office.
