Alex Romero

As Manager of Membership & Development, Alex supports ACORE’s corporate membership and development efforts, drawing on her background in stakeholder engagement, grants management, and international climate and conservation work to advance the team’s mission and member value strategy.

Prior to joining ACORE, Alex provided strategic programmatic and operational support for USAID’s flagship climate finance project, the Sustainable Investment Accelerator (previously the Climate Finance for Development Accelerator) at Chemonics International. She has also worked at land rights and climate-focused NGOs, such as the Rights and Resources Initiative, where she supported Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities to secure their forestland and resource rights and to preserve communities’ right to self-determination.

Alex holds an M.A. in International Development and a Certificate in Humanitarian Assistance from the University of Denver and graduated with highest honours with B.A.s in Art History and French with a minor in Classical Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
