Katy Richards is ACORE’s Director of Communications, overseeing day-to-day communications operations, leading the development of high-impact materials, and positioning ACORE as a thought leader in the clean energy sector.

Katy is a strategic communications leader with more than a decade of experience in clean energy communications. Most recently, she served as Communications Director for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, where she built the communications function and led the communications strategy for a $25 billion portfolio of next-generation energy projects. Prior to OCED, Katy held communications leadership roles with DOE’s National Nuclear Security Administration and served as Vice President on the energy team at Edelman.

Katy holds a Master of Environmental Science and Management degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She currently resides in Alexandria, VA, with her husband and two daughters.
