Brad Nordholm leads the company’s efforts to successfully deliver on its core mission of increasing the availability and affordability of credit for rural America. He joined Farmer Mac in October 2018 from Starwood Energy Group Global, LLC, a leading private investment firm specializing in energy infrastructure where he served as the company’s first CEO from 2006 to 2016 and more recently as Vice Chairman. Prior to Starwood Energy, Brad founded and served as CEO of Tyr Energy, an energy and power-focused investment firm after serving as General Manager at Aquila, Inc. Over the course of his career in the electric power industry, Brad had a strong focus on renewable energy and successfully led the development, construction and commissioning of numerous solar, wind, high voltage transmission and storage projects.

Brad completed his undergraduate degree in Economics at Carleton College where he later served on its Board of Trustees and the PMD program at Harvard Business School.
