Gil Jenkins is responsible for guiding ACORE’s communications efforts to promote the policies and financial structures essential to renewable energy growth, including message development, partnerships, earned media, social media, and digital marketing.
Before joining ACORE, Gil led Ogilvy’s clean energy & sustainability communications practice. His clients have included Ford, Cree Inc., DuPont, Johnson & Johnson, SunPower, View Inc., Land Trust Alliance, USDA and many others. Among his client successes were helping a Fortune 10 company launch a concept electric vehicle powered by solar; leading international media strategy for the host country of a UN Climate Change Conference; and managing integrated communications for a pioneering expedition to research and reveal the effects of climate change on the coral reefs of the world.
Before Ogilvy, Gil worked at Weber Shandwick where he managed media relations and grassroots outreach for a range of automotive and clean energy clients. He has also held PR agency roles at Ketchum and SHIFT Communications and started his career as a public relations specialist at Raytheon. Gil has served as an adviser for the MIT Clean Energy Prize and graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst with a major in communication and a minor in political science.
