Gaurav Raniwala, Global Head of Renewable Energy at GE Energy Financial Services (“EFS”), leads the organization’s Global Renewables team, which is responsible for underwriting and structuring investments in the global renewable energy sector. EFS supports GE’s renewable energy customers and projects across the world and is a leading tax equity investor in the U.S. With experience investing more than $15 billion since 2004, the group finances onshore, offshore and re-powering wind projects.
Gaurav joined GE in 1995. During his time at GE, he served as Chief Risk Officer of GE Capital’s Franchise Finance business based in Scottsdale, where he had oversight of risk integration and culture change. He also spent 5+ years in the United Kingdom and in Spain, with increasing levels of responsibility, eventually leading the telecom and media underwriting team for GE Capital Europe. Gaurav has an MBA in Finance from the Indian Institute of Management, and a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology.
