ACORE Statement on DOE’s Solar Futures Study

Statement From Gregory Wetstone, President and CEO of the American Council on Renewable Energy:

“The new Solar Futures study from the Department of Energy demonstrates that we can grow the renewable sector rapidly enough to meet our climate goals and, importantly, do so without raising electricity costs. The report affirms that accelerating the clean energy transition will lead to both climate protection and greater economic prosperity, creating good-paying jobs across America. A key step to achieving this critical objective is the reform of the nation’s tax code now pending in Congress. We must move the renewable sector beyond the endless cycle of temporary stopgap measures to a stable, predictable and long-term clean energy tax platform that helps decarbonize the economy while putting millions of Americans back to work.”
