Washington, DC – This week, Michael Brower, ACORE’s Interim President and CEO, was named to the United States Energy Security Council. The Council’s main goal is to end America’s dependence on oil - particularly imported foreign oil - for transportation and other energy needs. To this end, the Council works to ensure that new cars sold domestically will accommodate and benefit from a competitive fuel marketplace, and that non-petroleum fuels can compete against oil in a free market environment.
“The US Energy Security Council has made an excellent selection,” explained ACORE Board of Directors Co-Chairman Dan Reicher. “Michael Brower has served admirably as ACORE’s Interim CEO and President over the last several months, and his strong background in the renewable energy sector makes him a smart choice for the Council. Michael's selection also shows that ACORE is a serious player in growing the renewable energy industry and getting things done both in Washington and nationwide.”
