June 11 -- Swedish home furnishing giant IKEA announced Tuesday it had completed its underground geothermal work on a future store near Kansas City, Kan., which is scheduled to open in the fall.

The store in Merriam will be the second IKEA store in the nation with geothermal heating and cooling, the company said in a news release. IKEA Centennial near Denver has used the technology since opening in 2011. >>View Article
