Dear Member,

If you have not yet heard, ACORE is now an official partner of NASCAR Green, the most visionary and effective renewable energy campaign in the national sports industry. Through the generous sponsorship of Lockheed Martin, this ground-breaking partnership clearly demonstrates once again, that ACORE is the voice for all renewable energy...regardless of technology or sector. This new alliance allows ACORE to broadly advance public understanding of renewable energy by connecting ACORE with millions and millions of NASCAR fans.

We have paired up our NASCAR Green and Lockheed Martin collaboration with a game-changing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) initiative focused on the STEM components of renewable energy particularly as they apply to NASCAR’s and Lockheed Martin’s exceptionally sophisticated STEM applications and connectivities.  In every way imaginable, this important innovative alliance fits fully and synergistically with our ACORE renewable energy value proposition as a pathway to greater national security, economic security and environmental security in a world powered by clean, cost effective renewable energy.

ACORE’s finger-on-the-pulse Communications Team led by Senior Vice President for Communications and Marketing, Turner Houston, told me that after only one day, our partnership announcement media “hit opportunities” had topped 65 million...talk about reaching our national grassroots and grasstips! Naturally, ACORE is proud to be part of the NASCAR Nation!

RFS Comments
Our Lockheed-NASCAR Green partnership isn’t the only demonstration of the power of ACORE. Recently, ACORE, leading a collaboration of key industry stakeholders and ACORE members, submitted comments to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) on their 2014 Renewable Volume Obligations (RVO) proposal. Frankly, we told USEPA that they were just plain wrong and that their proposal was simply an abandonment of the U.S. renewable fuels industry and the farm and forest communities. ACORE will always oppose short-sighted decisions that create market uncertainty and undermine renewable energy industry growth. We understand USEPA Administrator Gina McCarthy is now signaling that USEPA is thoughtfully considering reversing course on their RVO proposal.

ACORE is proud to demonstrate – whenever needed – our convening and educating mission. Our mission is empowered by our membership and channeled into action by your continued, active support and insights during weekly and monthly steering committee, and co-chair and Initiatives calls. ACORE knows, as an article of faith, our industry can achieve so much more when we work together.  And bringing the industry together – advancing the industry together – is exactly what ACORE does; it’s in our DNA.

On the Horizon
Fast approaching is ACORE’s Member Day on March 27th at the Newsuem, and our National Renewable Energy Policy Forum on March 28th in the Kennedy Caucus Room in the Russell Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill. Member Day is a great opportunity for you to learn about ACORE’s 2014 organizational strategy and meet other ACORE members and staff. The Forum will be an especially useful platform from which to send a signal to national policymakers about the need for policy certainty and a level playing field. I invite you to join with us in March.

Additionally, we’ll be hosting an ABA/ACORE , February 26th; a National Defense & Security Initiative Executive Meeting on February 27th; an International Programs Executive Roundtable on April 7th; the Renewable Energy Latin American & Caribbean Conference & Exhibition, April 24th-25th; and there will be many big announcements in between.

The New ACORE is moving forward with the wind at our backs at a steady and favorable speed. Our Board of Directors-ratified Strategic Plan is the foundation for a successful 2014. I know the ACORE staff has the “right stuff” to achieve our mission and goals. I am very excited to have you on board and look forward to together creating powerful progress for our industry this year. And if you missed me on TV a few weeks ago talking about the need for stronger and stable renewable energy policy, please feel free to take a quick look to watch the interview.

Best,

Michael Brower
