ACORE Fellowship Program FAQs

  1. testtubesAre these fellowships paid positions?
    1. The F3 program will provide competitive pay and potential reimbursement for travel and housing.

  2. Will I receive University credit?
    1. No

  3.  What is the time frame?
    1. The F3 program will run for approximately 7-10 weeks during the summer of 2015.

  4. How many submissions are you taking?
    1. We will accept up to 1,000 submissions for the ACORE Fellowship Program.

  5.  When will I hear if I have been accepted to the program?
    1. We will be accepting submissions through December 31, 2014. Down selection will be made by January 2015 and students will have a final decision by 2/28/15.

  6. What are the requirements to submit your interest to ACORE’s Fellowship Program?
    1. Full time undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or related fields
    2. Overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher
    3. Resume
    4. 500 word essay
    5. $75 submission fee

  7. What are the benefits of this program?
    1. Fellows will learn about Lockheed Martin’s exciting advanced energy programs.
    2. Fellows will work on a renewable energy/energy efficiency-related project.
    3. Fellows will have an opportunity to interface with some of the most senior energy executives in the Lockheed Martin Company through this program.
    4. Fellows will have an opportunity to support ACORE’s NASCAR Green Official Partnership Program.

  8. What is the submission process?
    1. Students meeting the requirements of the Fellowship program will submit their contact information, enter their ACORE submission fee and will then be directed to Lockheed Martin’s portal to complete the submission process.  Through this link you will be able to provide your resume and a 500-word essay describing why you should be selected for ACORE’s Fellowship Program.
  • If you are down selected, a Lockheed Martin representative will reach out to you regarding next steps.  If you are offered a fellowship position, your offer will be contingent upon your satisfactory completion of a pre-employment screening process. This process includes, but is not limited to, drug testing and verification of the information you provided in your employment application (background investigation).  Background checks for verification will occur once a candidate has accepted an offer.

  • Image and publicity release: as a condition of your fellowship submission, you agree that you will sign a photo and video release form if selected to ACORE’s fellowship program to be highlighted as a Leader in Energy in media releases including, but not limited to, NASCAR Green, ACORE, and Lockheed Martin.
