James Hewett is a Policy Associate for the American Council On Renewable Energy. He oversees ACORE’s Power Generation and Infrastructure Initiative, as well as ACORE’s Smart Grid Working Group. James is currently working on ways to examine the growing role of renewable energy and its implications for the utility business models of the future in the rapidly evolving electric power generation industry. In furtherance of the objectives of the Power Generation and Infrastructure Initiative, The Smart Grid Working Group seeks to increase understanding about the transformational role of “smart grid” technologies for renewable energy integration into the grid and market.
Before joining ACORE, James was a Laboratory Technician for Terrabon, Inc., conducting research on advanced biofuels feedstocks in conjunction with Texas A&M University’s Chemical Engineering Department.
James is currently working towards his M.S. and Certificate of Business in Biotechnology from American University, and has a B.S. in Biomedical Science with an emphasis on biochemistry from Texas A&M University.
